“​The art and life of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, was a major source of inspiration for my creative process during the summer of 2013. I view Frida as a kindred spirit, not least due to the years I spent in Mexico as a young girl. Frida Kahlo and Mexicanidad continue to inspire my artistic expression, both in my art and in my writing. Frida's story is my story, too.”
